Student Services Australia (SSA) works cooperatively with Student Unions, Associations, Guilds, Sports Associations, Clubs and Societies, faculties, schools, departments lecturers, international offices and residential colleges around Australia.
So, after 15 years on campus, our community is the student community!
We hope our impact on the student community is positive. Some of this includes;
Student Employment.
With 250+ student-staff, there are more students working here than non-students.
Revenue.
SSA, SMA and our clients spend over $250,000 with campus organisations annually.
Student Products & Discounts.
For example, in 1997, there were 12 magazines willing to provide a student discount, today we have 72.
Fun and interaction.
Did you play Xbox on campus before it launched? or win lunch at The Australian's "Food for Thought"? You've probably been to an event organised by SSA.
Student-corporate feedback.
We run a lot of focus groups with our student-staff, so clients can ask directly "what do students want from our product? Sometimes they even implement the answer!
Final Note: Staff Development
One of the biggest impacts we probably have on the student community is though the personal development of our staff.
It's hard to get a job with SSA. We only hire down-to-earth students who are reliable, organised and motivated.
Our staff get behind us, so we get behind our staff. SSA training sessions are designed to build skills that can be used life long. Our reference check database has detailed comments and praise for over 1,500 of our past staff going back 7 years.
Our staff are the best. If you see SSA or SMA on someone's resume, hire them!
